Queen's Domain Weapon Upgrades: Endu and Gear Guide

Queen's Domain weapon upgrades can turn a familiar sword into a stronger weapon, extend your air dashes, and even produce a key for optional treasure. Understanding those differences helps you choose what to practice with and which upgrades to hunt down. Start with weapon experience, then build around Endu's transformations, Wind Gems, and rechargeable throwing weapons.

How to Upgrade Weapons in Queen's Domain

Melee weapons gain experience through use and become more powerful as they level up. Character progression runs alongside this: defeating enemies earns character EXP, while practicing with a weapon develops that weapon.

Keep using a weapon whose reach and special attack fit your timing. Switching constantly means spending less time developing any particular weapon, and an experienced favorite can remain useful after you discover new equipment.

Weapon progression also has consequences beyond higher damage:

  • Holy Sword Endu changes form. Its second stage, Soul Bound Endu, has a different appearance and improved stats.
  • Wind Gems add Wind Dash charges. These expand your movement options and open routes across larger gaps.
  • The Storm Gem activates Endu's special attack meter. This adds a separate combat upgrade in the Tower of Knowledge.
  • The Trident yields a key piece at maximum level. That piece contributes to an optional temple puzzle.

Before grinding, check your combat rhythm. Your yellow Power Meter directly affects melee damage. Repeated swings with an empty meter deal very little damage, even with a developed weapon. Let it refill between attacks, or hold the primary attack button to build a stronger charged strike.

Which Early Weapons Should You Develop?

You can equip three melee weapons, and enemies respond differently to Slash, Pierce, and Impact damage. Build your loadout around those differences rather than judging everything by its starting damage.

Rusted Spear and Wooden Club

The Rusted Spear comes from a chest in the coastal tower guarded by a Chilopoda. Its special attack moves you backward while attacking, giving you a way to poke an enemy and create space.

Practice that retreat against early enemies while learning their reach. Keep enough Power Meter available to use the special attack when you need it.

The Wooden Club is in a chest on the first lower floor of the underground dungeon. Its Impact damage is useful against skeletons, including the Shrine Guardian. Equip it for those encounters instead of forcing Slash damage through an unfavorable matchup.

Holy Sword Endu, Morningstar, and Azure Torch

After defeating the Shrine Guardian, collect Holy Sword Endu from the shrine. Give it regular combat use to develop its damage and work toward its stronger forms.

The Morningstar costs 20 Ancient Coins at the shop and deals both Impact and Pierce damage. Pair it with Endu's Slash damage to cover all three physical damage types.

The Azure Torch adds a different resource to manage. Pick it up outside the Tower of Knowledge; it builds magical charges while equipped, even when another weapon is active. Its secondary attack launches a blue fireball that can burn enemies for damage over time.

Keep the torch equipped while using your other weapons so its magic can recharge between casts. Check item descriptions for damage types—a thrusting animation alone does not make an attack deal Pierce damage.

Endu Upgrades: Soul Bound Form, Wind Gems, and Storm Gem

Endu's weapon level, movement charges, and special attack meter are separate parts of its progression. Developing one does not replace collecting the others.

Soul Bound Endu

As Holy Sword Endu levels up, it eventually transforms into Soul Bound Endu, gaining a new appearance and better stats.

Use Endu regularly against enemies suited to Slash damage. Swap to another damage type when the matchup calls for it; keeping the sword in use does not require struggling through every resistant enemy.

Where to Get the Early Wind Gems

Endu arrives with a Wind Gem that grants your initial air dash. Collecting additional gems adds more charges, shown as diamonds near the Power Meter.

To reach the second gem, start near the Cemetery Precipice Crystal Monument. Follow the wall east until rubble beside a tree lets you climb onto the raised road. Continue north, turn west at the end, and use the broken tower and rubble to reach the small tower holding the gem.

The second dash lets you cross the broken bridge toward Obmuer Temple. Inside the temple, collect the third gem to cross the large pit near a save point.

Revisit elevated paths and broken bridges after collecting a gem. Endu's dedicated Wind Dash input remains available while another weapon is equipped, so you can keep your preferred combat weapon ready during exploration.

Storm Gem in the Tower of Knowledge

The Storm Gem adds Endu's special attack meter, enabling a powerful charged special attack.

Look for it up the massive staircase near the tower's upper study and fast travel point. After collecting it, inspect the area beneath its location: an air dash reaches a switch that rotates a stairway and opens the route toward further tower progression.

Level the Trident to Obtain an Extra Trident Key

The Trident found outside Obmuer Temple has a second purpose beyond combat. Raise it to maximum level and a key piece breaks off.

That piece helps solve the temple's optional puzzles requiring additional Trident Keys. Their locations are spread across several stages of progression:

  • Two keys are inside Obmuer Temple.
  • One key comes from leveling the Trident found outside.
  • One key becomes available for purchase after defeating the Tower of Knowledge boss.

You can finish Obmuer Temple with its two internal keys. Leave the four-key treasure puzzle for a return trip instead of searching the temple for every key.

If you want that optional loot, give the Trident combat time after finding it. This lets you develop the weapon while continuing your adventure.

Improve Throwing Weapons with Extra Charges and Acid

The Dagger Belt gives you three rechargeable Throwing Daggers. Each throw uses an available charge, which returns over time.

Additional daggers increase how many you can throw before waiting. After unlocking the shop with the Stone Duck Figurine, buy extra Throwing Daggers to expand that capacity. You can also find another dagger in a chest along the uphill route toward Cemetery Precipice.

Use throws to remove Forest Eyes, pull enemies away from groups, and attack while your melee Power Meter recovers. Release any held charged melee attack before trying to throw; holding a charge prevents throwing weapon use.

Later, defeating the Necronomicon awards an acid vial that coats your basic Throwing Daggers with acid. These daggers can burst the fleshy growths throughout the Tower of Knowledge, exposing secrets and new equipment.

Return to blocked passages after obtaining the vial. The growth near Bodine opens an important route toward the mausoleum.

Fix a Freeze During Weapon Evolution

If your game freezes when a weapon transforms, install version 1.01.01, which includes a fix for that issue.

Save manually at a Crystal Monument after securing an important upgrade. Resting restores health and clears status effects, but saving is a separate action—and dying returns you to your most recent save.
